When classroom teachers must be out of their classrooms, Worcester County Public Schools uses highly skilled substitutes, making the flow of instruction as seamless as possible. Currently, our school system has a highly qualified pool of 210 substitutes. Here are some interesting facts:
Of the substitutes who are eligible, 65 percent have earned higher pay by participating in ongoing professional development.
If you are interested in becoming a substitute at one or more of our schools, please contact the school's principal for an appointment. Principals initiate the substitute employment process by recommending -- via a personnel requisition to Human Resources -- those candidates whom they wish to add to their school's approved substitute list. Only those individuals whom a principal recommends will be invited to apply and to participate in a criminal background check.
