Worcester Technical High School

At Worcester Technical High School (WTHS), all students are challenged to prepare for college and future careers in a global economy. The school is centrally located in Newark, Maryland and serves students in grades 9 through 12 enrolled in the three area high schools that elect to pursue a certificate in a career field as well as academic preparation for college. State of the art technology used in business and industry is taught in all program areas, with all programs designed to meet current and future local and national job market needs. Together, students, parents, and teachers set high expectations for students to achieve academically, technically, and socially. The motto of Worcester Technical High School is "Preparing Today's Students for Tomorrow's Challenges." Currently, WTHS offers high school students the following programs of study: Pre-Engineering; Biomedical Science; Interactive Media Production; Business; Renewable Energies; Animal, Plant and Agriculture Science; Criminal Justice/Homeland Security; Academy of Hospitality and Tourism; Culinary Arts; Nursing; Cosmetology; Teacher Academy of Maryland; Childcare and Early Childhood Education; Automotive Technology; Construction Design and Management/Autodesk; Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning; and Carpentry/Construction Technology. For most programs, college credit is available through dual enrollment and/or articulation agreements with Salisbury University, UMES, Wor-Wic Community College, Stevenson University, University of Northwestern Ohio, Stratford University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Community College of Baltimore County, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Universal Technical Institute, Anne Arundel Community College, and/or Del Tech.
