Pocomoke Elementary School is located in Pocomoke City, Maryland, next to the beautiful Pocomoke River. We serve 425 students in grades PreK through 3. The faculty of our school believes all kids can learn. We focus on instruction and our considerable resources to make that belief a reality. School Highlights and Awards
Pocomoke Elementary achieved accreditation through the Middle States Association in 2004. Project Intervene, an extended day center of learning housed in two of our local churches, was recognized in October 2002 by the Maryland State Department of Education for its work in helping minorities to excel. Our PreK program at PES has been validated by the State of Maryland. For four years in a row, we have been named by the state as a PBIS Exemplar School. In 2008, our school received a superior status. Pocomoke Elementary School became a Maryland Character Education School of the Year, a Panasonic National School Change Finalist, and was recognized by the Maryland Association of Curriculum and Supervisors as a Program of Excellence.
