Snow Hill Elementary School serves the Town of Snow Hill, population 2,409, as well as the surrounding farmlands and unincorporated boroughs of central Worcester County. Agriculture, specifically poultry and grain production, is the county's major industrial employer. Snow Hill, the county seat, is located along the scenic Pocomoke River.
Snow Hill Elementary School is one of five elementary schools in the Worcester County School System. It serves approximately 370 students in pre-kindergarten through 3rd grade, and is part of a consortium of schools that also includes Snow Hill Middle School (grades 4-8) and Snow Hill High School (grades 9-12).
In 2004, Snow Hill Elementary School was named a Maryland Blue Ribbon School as well as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. During the 2002-03 school year, Snow Hill Elementary School received full accreditation through Middle States Association, as well as full accreditation for the early childhood programs from the Maryland State Department of Education. In the fall of 2002, Snow Hill Elementary became a school-wide Title I school.
